FIG. 2—VISUAL COLOR SCORES FOR FLAT POTATO CHIPS VIEWED UNDER TWO LUMINAIRES

Visual Evaluation—The twelve flat chips were evaluated by 25 untrained panelists under a Macbeth North Sky Daylight (7500 K) Model BBX 324 fixture on three consecutive days. Panelists ranked the chips for lightness and then for "color" (including lightness, hue, and saturation), to see if the results would differ. To establish a color range for the main tests, panelists also ranked the chips by their own color preferences, indicating limits of acceptability.
