"A Passage of Time" emerged as one of the remnants of a collaborative project that never quite came to pass. The idea was to translate concepts expressed in a genuinely alien language into English, where they took the form of stories or story-like (de)constructs, often growing outside of pages or the linear progression of narrative time.
