I've found myself becoming increasingly interested in the idea of video/multimedia essays: the text still acting as the primary focus, but augmented by sound and visual components. I went on an outdoor camping trip this past January in the Boundary Waters of Minnesota, and I came back with a lot of dark (unusable) video footage that I didn't have the heart to erase. Since most of my writing has focused on collections lately, it seemed worthwhile to try to film (and write) some more.
