CONCEPTUALIZATION OF COMMUNICATION SEQUENCE

My contentions are that appearance syntax is built upon associative sensory experience, symbolism, imagery of schema, human expression, and gesture, all of which are structured by the aesthetic configuration. Figure 1 depicts a designer's conceptualization of the communication sequence from object to observer. Each "lens" modifies how the appearance information is treated--and here it might be said that beauty is in the eye of the beholder.
